GREELEYVILLE - Jhue Williams, 65, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2015, at Carolina Hospital in Florence.

Born Sept. 20, 1950, in Greeleyville, he was a son of Cleo Gamble Williams and the late Richard Williams Sr. He attended Williamsburg County public schools. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his savior and became a member of St. John 4B Missionary Baptist Church.

After graduating from high school, "Gum," as he was affectionately known, moved to Troy, New York.

He started working at Ford Motor Company Plant in Troy, New York, and later transferred to Ford Motor Company Plant in Detroit, Michigan.

After working nearly 35 years, he retired and relocated to Greeleyville.

Survivors besides his mother of Greeleyville include a daughter, Jawanna Pettiway of Troy, New York; two sisters, Linda (Jerome) Jackson of Queens, New York, and Mildred (Edward) Bryant of Greeleyville; four brothers, Dr. Larry Williams of Columbia, Richard Williams Jr. of Kingstree, Daniel (Towanda) Williams of Greeleyville and Pete (Tracy) Sanders, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; two adopted sisters, Gwendolyn (Clyde) Henderson and Timmie Gibson, both of Columbia; two adopted brothers, Charles (Brenda) Gibson of Columbia, and Larry (Mary) Gibson of Greeleyville; three grandchildren, Taveiona Wilson, Saquan Turner and Ihmere Davis, all of Troy; a special cousin, Sam York of Greeleyville; two special friends, Willie Keels of Greeleyville, and Sam Conyers of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Celebratory services for Jhue Williams will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at Hayes F. and LaNelle J. Samuels Sr Memorial Chapel, 114, N. Church St. in Manning, with the Rev. Clarence Hilton officiating, and the Rev. Dr. Lewis Walker Jr. assisting. Burial will follow in Big Spring Cemetery in Greeleyville.

The family will receive friends at the home of his mother, 841 McMillan Road in Greeleyville.

Services for Jhue Williams have been entrusted to Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning.
