Clyde Winfield Ardis, 83, husband of Gerry Jackson Ardis, of Josephine Williams Ardis, of Monroeville, Alabama, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015.

A Manning native, he was a former resident of Anniston, Alabama, but had lived in Monroeville since 2008. He was a retired chief warrant officer with the Alabama National Guard. He was a member of Monroeville First Baptist church and a former member of Anniston First Baptist Church of Saks.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Josephine Williams Ardis; and a daughter, Sarah Ardis Pair.

Survivors besides his wife of Monroeville include a stepson, Scott Jackson of Jackson, Alabama; a stepdaughter, Sandy (Kimble) Coker of Pike Road, Alabama; a son-in-law, Rodney (Cindy) Pair of Annison; a brother, Wilbur Ardis of Manning; three sisters, Vivian (Cutter) Epps of Manning, Jean (John) Malone of Florence and MaryAnn (Mike) Horton of West Columbia; seven grandchildren, Kevin Pair, Alex Pair, Katie Edwards, Kathryn Coker, Caroline Coker, Mandy Warrick and Garrett Jackson; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Johnson Funeral Home.

Funeral services followed visitation, with the Rev. Micah Gandy and the Rev. Randall Reaves officiating. Burial was held Friday, April 24, 2015, at Anniston Memorial Gardens in Anniston, with the Rev. Randal Reaves officiating.
