Help DNR preserve natural resources during tax time

Clarendon residents can help the state Department of Natural Resources during tax time protect endangered and threatened species, conserve the state’s beautiful places and ensure future generations have public access to some of the best sport-fishing and hunting the country has to offer. It’s easy by using S.C. Tax Form I-330, “Contributions for Checkoffs.” When residents make a check-off contribution on their taxes to the Endangered Wildlife Fund, or the state DNR Fund, even $1, they’ll be helping to preserve and protect the best parts of South Carolina. The department uses these donated funds to purchase habitats that need its help. These places might have some water, and maybe some wildlife or big trees, and the department helps make sure it stays that way. So now all your dollars together are making for some healthy fish and animals, happy hikers and successful sportsmen. This happens because of residents and their generous contribution to the DNR when they do their taxes. Residents can ask tax preparers to go to Line 28 of their 1040 forms and write down the contribution amount, and then complete the I-330 tax form. One line here and one form here have one big impact on the state’s natural resources.
