The Laurence Manning Academy Swampcats fought hard but couldn't overcome Hammond Prep in the teams' second meet-up of the 2014 football season. Ultimately, the Skyhawks won 17-0, never allowing the Swampcats on the board, winning the South Carolina Independent School Association AAA Championship title. Coach Robbie Briggs said that he hopes the Swampcats will make state appearances a regular thing. It was the team's first time at state since 1997.
Congratulations to our Swampcats for making the state finals. Like Briggs, we know this is the beginning of bigger and better seasons for our hometown team.
