Clarendon, Colleton awarded grants to help draw biofuel industries

Posted
Economic developers in Clarendon and Colleton counties just got two grants that will help fund studies on transportation biofuel investments for commercial and military use in each county. South Carolina Clean Energy Business Alliance program manager Andrew Epting said in a release the studies will facilitate "a dialogue between four industrial scale biofuel production companies, the Clarendon County Development Board, the Colleton County Economic Development Alliance and feedstock availability and distribution experts." "The result will be a report detailing all required physical and natural assets these companies need to locate large commercial biofuels production facilities in South Carolina," Epting said. He said the ultimate goal is to "facilitate clean energy manufacturing in the Interstate 95 corridor." See the July 17 edition of The Manning Times for more.
