Manning resident Lawrence Hilton, 68, has been cancer free since 2008, shortly after doctors removed one of his kidneys after he was diagnosed with a malignant tumor on that organ. He said Friday at Relay for Life that he did not have to go through any treatment. He said Friday was his first relay, that he thought it was nice, and he was enjoying spending time with his wife, Jannette, who is a breast cancer survivor.
"I think (Relay) is a good thing," Hilton said. "It offers both support to survivors and caregivers, and it raises money for research."
