Both Jane and Robbie Hamrick are cancer survivors. Jane underwent surgery and treatment for melanoma in 2008, but Robbie is still dealing with the lung cancer for which he was diagnosed in 2012. He has chemotherapy at the Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia weekly, Jane said.
"Relay means a chance for other people not to have to deal with this," Jane said on Friday night at Manning High School's Ramsey Stadium.
"For me, it means not having to do this by myself," Robbie said.
