Manning resident Pam McCabe is a three-time cancer survivor, having successfully battled ovarian cancer once and lung cancer twice. She had a lung removed in 2012 due to the latter. She said the support she receives through participating in Relay for Life is "amazing.
"It's important for us to spend time together as survivors and to raise money toward finding a cure so no one else has to go through what we've been through," she said.
She said granddaughter Laura Betts Brogdon, 12, of Sumter is her "best supporter."
