Arrest made in Summerton shooting

anthony thomas jamesThe Clarendon County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a 23-year-old man for his role in a home invasion on Feb. 6 that resulted in the shooting death of an 18-year-old North Carolina Man. Anthony Thomas James, 23, of 1100 K.W. Hodge Road in Manning, was charged Tuesday evening with murder, according to Maj. Kipp Coker.  He is one of two suspects deputies allege invaded a home on Furse Road in Summerton on Feb. 6. Johnte Shaheed Holliday was shot twice in the chest during the incident, which happened at his 29-year-old uncle’s home. Reports indicate Holliday let the two men into the home thinking they were his uncle’s friends. They demanded money, according to the uncle, and then took a “rust and black colored” shotgun before shooting at the men. Holliday was declared dead at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.

    I’m so relieved. That’s up the street from my house. N they are good friends of mine. I be at the residence. I hope the other to suspect’s are apprehended. But I trust the lord will take care of that. God is good. . Prayers still for da Holliday family, and Lawson family
