Tillman Roy Tumbleston Waynick

Tillman Roy Tumbleston Waynick, 26, died Sunday, April 2, 2023. 

Born January 23, 1997, in Columbia, he was a son of Jonathan Brent Waynick and Jill Jordan Gulledge Waynick. He was a 2015 graduate of Laurence Manning Academy and a member of Harmony Church. Tillman was an avid Gamecock fan, hunter, golfer and all-around outdoorsman. He was a cancer survivor. Tillman’s brothers and sister were his heart and he loved his cousins deeply. His friends and LMA family held a very special place in his heart. Tillman’s smile and love for others lit up every room he walked in. 

He is survived by his parents of Sumter; three siblings, Kinsley McCall Waynick, Sims Kelly Waynick and Banks Gregory Waynick; paternal grandparents, Harold R. & Gail Waynick, Jr.; maternal grandmother, Jean Floyd; paternal grandmother, Deanie Singleton, all of Sumter; and multiple aunts, uncles and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, David Tillman Floyd, Jr.; and his paternal grandfather, Roy Tumbleston. 

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023, in the chapel of Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home, 515 Miller Road, Sumter. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Cagney Brunson, Steven Prebish, Burgess Jordan, Todd Larrimer, Evan Todd, Davis Martin, Justin Alsbrook, Spencer Stamps and Tyler Riles. 

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of his parents, 3515 Preserve Court, Sumter.
