The very special volunteers who donate their time and talents to make a difference at McLeod Health Clarendon were celebrated Thursday, April 25, during a luncheon at the hospital in honor of National Volunteer Week.
The McLeod Health Clarendon Volunteer Services Department consists of more than 21 men and women who work in almost every facet of the organization including the information desk, transportation, outpatient rehab, surgical waiting areas, radiology, clerical duties, conducting daily patient rounds, and much more.
Volunteers have always played an important role in helping McLeod Health Clarendon deliver quality care to its patients. “There is something very special and unique about each and every one of our volunteers. For all the various big jobs and small tasks, they do with their warm smiles and open hearts we thank them,” said Stacy Mosier, Volunteer Services Coordinator.
During the luncheon Rhette Barrett was recognized as McLeod Health Clarendon’s Volunteer of the Year.
He began volunteering in 2019 and has served in various roles throughout the hospital.
In presenting the award to Barrett, Stacy Mosier, Volunteer Services Coordinator, shared, “Rhette is always willing to go wherever he is needed in the hospital. His cheerful demeanor and smile welcomes our patients and visitors at the front desk.”
