Firm Foundations Pediatric Therapy, LLC, marked a significant milestone with its grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 2, receiving a warm welcome from the Summerton community and the Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce.
Located at 116 South Main Street, Firm Foundations Pediatric Therapy promises to be a valuable addition to Summerton’s downtown area, offering top-notch pediatric occupational therapy and academic tutoring services.
Owners Jessica Yount and Gretchen Floyd, both experienced occupational therapists with over 35 years of combined expertise, have established Firm Foundations with a deep commitment to serving the needs of children in Summerton and beyond. Their vision is to provide quality care close to home, eliminating the need for families to travel long distances for treatment.

The clinic specializes in sensory integration therapy, recognizing the importance of a strong sensory foundation in developing motor skills and academic success. In addition to occupational therapy, Firm Foundations offers speech therapy services on a part-time basis, provided by Melanie Layton, and academic tutoring for elementary-aged children led by April Bryant. Bryant is certified in Orton Gillingham, a multi-sensory approach to learning.
