Clarendon Pilot Club activities

Posted

On Dec. 5, 2023, Clarendon Pilot Club members hosted a "fun social" for the community. It was called a paint and pour. It was free and held at the Buyck Barn from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Columbia artist, Jackie Chalfant came to instruct us on painting gourds. We had a delightful time with delicious refreshments, visiting and admiring everyone's work. The Pilot Club's mission is to influence positive change in communities throughout the world. To do this, we come together in friendship and service, focusing on friendship and service, making our community a better place to live for all. We give five $1,000 scholarships to a graduating high school senior going into the medical field in honor and memory of Dotty McFaddin.  We also have projects to enhance the needs in our county.

On Feb. 7, 2024, the Clarendon Pilot Club assisted the clients at the Southern Senior Living Pocotaligo Health and Rehab Center in making Valentines for themselves, friends, and family. It was a joyful experience for the volunteers and clients. They enjoyed the  work and visiting together with delicious rereshments. Marsha Thompson, the marketing director, planned and assisted the volunteers.
