Clarendon celebrates its first responders with Biketoberfest

October 28th was National First Responders Day. There were several celebrations that took place in Clarendon County.

The Bicycle Corporation of America (BCA) plant located in Manning provided lunch for all first responders in the county as well as holding drawings and also gave away four bicycles . The Lunch included popcorn, hotdogs and hamburgers, first responders and employees also enjoyed games of corn hole during the event.

“Biketoberfest at BCA turned out to be an awesome event. We were happy to see so many of Manning’s and Clarendon County’s first responders show up at the event. We are looking forward to doing it again next year. And a very special thanks to all of our associates that make BCA a great place,” said Plant Manager Michael Morrow, who attended the event in a pink vest to honor Breast Cancer awareness month as well.

All employees participated in the event in one way or another.

The gift card winners were Koby Bird, Errol Chapman, Victoria Matias, Tyslon Moore, Josheanna Pendergrass, Deb Stevents, Anastasha Singleton, Nashalia York, Phillip Wescott. The winners of the bicycle raffle were Donnisha Bates, Steven Mapson, Ellanora Pearson and Officer Hall from the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Department. The plant had first responders from Clarendon County Fire Department, Clarendon County Sheriff’s Department, Manning Fire Department and Manning Police Department in attendance. “An enormous thank you to all those that helped make this day so spectacular” said Tracy Morrow BCA Administrative Assistant.
