Clarence Carlyle “Carl” Gamble, Jr., 71, husband of Judy Kay Morris Gamble, died Wednesday, September 04, 2024, at his home.
Born September 28, 1952, in Manning, he was a son of the late Clarence Carlyle Gamble, Sr. and the late Alice Erline Brewer Gamble. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard with 36 years of service. He co-owned and operated C&A Carpet and Tile with his son, Aaron, and he attended Manning First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of Manning; a son, Aaron Powell (Daphne) of Manning; two daughters, Laura Hinman (Duane) of South Dakota and Ashley Burr (Trent) of Lexington; eight grandchildren, Lani Grace Powell, Wyatt Powell, Grainger Powell, Kasey Hinman, Logan Hinman, Abigail Hinman, Ella Kay Burr and Carol Anne Burr; a sister, Alice Jordan (Ron) of Manning; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Derrick Fort officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Clarendon Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Wyatt Powell, Grainger Powell, Jay Lowder, Justin Lowder, Jaycob Lowder, Hunter Reed and Rodney Reed.
Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Richburg, Richard Taylor, Van McCarty, Jeff Jones, Bubba Wells, Lannes Prothro, Richard Howell, Kelly Jackson and Lamar Johnson.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 1215 Tanglewood Drive, Manning.
