CCTC now accepting scholarship applications

Posted

More than 100 scholarships from the Central Carolina Technical College Foundation are available for current and future college students in Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee and Sumter counties for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Scholarship awards range from $500 to $2,500 with most in the $1000 range. To date, the Foundation has awarded 92 scholarships for a total of $86,300 for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Students can visit cctech.edu/foundation to create a profile and complete the online application. The scholarship application will be available through March 14, 2024. Only one application is needed to determine eligibility.

Most scholarships are awarded based on program of study, GPA, county of residence, major, or need. The Foundation’s minimum requirement for each scholarship is a 2.0 GPA and the student must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.

A few of the scholarships include Second Look Charities which supports students from Kershaw County with the opportunity to receive one of three $2,500 scholarships. The nursing program has three scholarships sponsored by the Tuomey Foundation in honor of valued nurses in the community. These scholarships are worth $2,000 each. We also have scholarships designed specifically for environmental students or those in the Industrial Technology programs. Undesignated scholarships are also available for those who may not have a clearly defined major yet.

Vice President for Institutional Advancement Misty Hatfield encourages all future and current CCTC students to apply. “Thanks to the generosity of our donors, students of all types are eligible for CCTC Foundation scholarships. From traditional students to adult learners back in the classroom after a long break, scholarship opportunities exist to help with tuition and books.”
