She was a member of Warren Chapel United Methodist Church and was an inspiration to her community and everyone she met.
Survivors include 13 children, Clarence Jr., Sylvester (Barbara), George, the Rev. Larry (Olivia), Ervin, Lorenza (Angie), Clayton (Iris), Dennis (Harriett), the Rev. Michael, Wally, Rebecca (Nathaniel), Valrey and Harriett; a brother, Henry (Betty) Wilson; a sister, Virginia Nowlin; a sister-in-law, Carron Smith; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her guardian children, Jimmy and Ernestine; and extended family members of friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at New Haven United Methodist Church in Timmonsville. Burial followed at Hawkins Cemetery in Lynchburg.
Jefferson Funeral Home of Lynchburg handled services.
