A 21-year-old Sumter woman was killed early Friday morning on Lake Marion due to a boating accident.
Capt. Robert McCullough of the state Department of Natural Resources said Hailey Joann Bordeaux was on a boat with three others when it was struck by another boat in the lake. Clarendon Deputy Coroner Charles Jackson said Friday morning that Bordeaux appeared to have a broken neck. Her body is being taken to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for autopsy on Saturday.
McCullough said no charges have been filed in the incident yet. He said alcohol was present, but not a factor in the boating wreck.
