SUMMERTON - George Henry Hunter, 79, husband of Margaret Rotunda Hunter, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, in Martinsville, Va.
Born June 15, 1934, in Washington, Conn., he was a son of the late George and Julia Hunter. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Summerton.
Survivors besides his wife of Summerton include a daughter, Laurie Barton of Connecticut; three stepchildren, Cheryl Cresci and Arthur Cresci, both of Danbury, Conn., and Joie Hopkins of Martinsville; two brothers; a sister; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchilren.
A funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Summerton with Father Samuel Oloyede officiating.
Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. today at Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
