Winter Educational Festival is a success

The Winter Educational Festival was held at Scott’s Branch Middle/High School on Saturday, Jan. 28 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students. families, and the community had the opportunity to attend sessions on mental health, how to engage students in learning experiences, and parental involvement, among other important topics.

Clarendon County School District Assistant Superintendent, Jacqueline Inabinette, said, “The Winter Educational Festival is a collaborative effort of our schools, community partners and agencies, and families to meet and share specialized information that contributes to overall student performance.”

The Winter Educational Festival included 11 sessions. After the opening program introduction, which included 2023 South Carolina Teacher of the Year, Dr. Deion Jamison, as a keynote speaker, sessions were held to engage and educate the community.

“Our goal is to foster, nurture, and strengthen relationships between the schools and homes while creating greater awareness about the community resources and supports available.”
