Three Clarendon Community Family Resource Centers see ribbon-cuttings

The Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting of the Clarendon County’s first Community Family Resource Center at The Wash N Go Laundry was celebrated with Regina Thurmond, SCDE’s Family and Community Engagement liaison; Dr. Shawn Johnson, Clarendon School District Two Superintendent; Dr. Jacqueline Inabinette, CSD2 Assistant Superintendent of Administration and Personnel;  Dr. Tyneshia Eaddy, Secondary Coordinator: Dr. Erica Murdaugh, Elementary Coordinator; Ellen Hamilton, CSD2’s Parenting and Family Programs coordinator; Karen Utter, CFEC Project Director; Ranina Outing, CFEC Regional Family Engagement Liaison and Project Lead for the Pee Dee region; Manning Mayor Julia Nelson, Mrs. Gloria Johnson, CSD2’s Administrative Assistant to Parenting; Mrs. Terrie Ard, Principal of Manning Junior High School; Ms. Tiffini Burgess, Principal of Manning Primary School; Mrs. Allyson Goff, Principal of Manning Elementary School, Suzanne Barr, CSD2 Public Relations Specialist; Tom Hudson, Executive Director, SC School Improvement Council State and the Assistant manager of Wash N Go Laundry.

HopeHealth, Paxville Community Development Center will also open today and house the CFRC’s in Manning.  They are three of six sites opening across the state March 29, with 15 to be operating within the next several months. The South Carolina Department of Education has allocated $182,400, a portion of its federal pandemic relief dollars (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief [ESSER] funds) to cover the cost of establishing the centers. The centers will be operated in partnership with the Carolina Family Engagement Center in the University of South Carolina’s College of Education and local volunteers.
