An employee with a store in the 2000 block of Paxville Highway in Manning told the Manning Police Department about 4:24 p.m. April 6 that a 31-year-old Manning man attempted to leave the store without paying for a Murray two-cycle trimmer valued at $82.63. The trimmer was recovered before the suspect got into a car in the parking lot. Police talked with the suspect, who admitted going through a closed register. Reports do not indicate whether the suspect was arrested.
