Rotary roundup: fellowship and upcoming events

Posted

The Rotary Club of Manning gathered for a fun fellowship lunch at Porter Jack's on Wednesday, September 4th. The informal event provided members a chance to connect over lunch and discuss upcoming initiatives.

Upcoming events

The Rotary Club announced several upcoming events, beginning with a community trash pickup on September 14th. Manning Rotarians will join the youth group from Manning United Methodist Church (MUMC) for this cleanup effort, which will focus on Hwy 260 between Haseldon Drive and Oak Grove Church Road. Rotary and MUMC members are encouraged to reach out to Sgt. at Arms Leigh Ann Maynard for more details.

Looking ahead, the Manning Rotary Club will host a candidate forum for the upcoming Clarendon County School Board election on October 10th at 6 p.m. at the Weldon Auditorium. The event will feature all 27 candidates who have filed with the county’s Voter Registration office. Depending on attendance, the forum may include a timed introduction followed by platform speeches or a brief Q&A session. Afterward, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the candidates during an informal meet and greet, with light refreshments provided.

Promotional flyers have been distributed, and the club encourages candidates to share these within their networks to ensure a strong turnout.
