Christie’s International Real Estate is strengthening its presence in South Carolina as The Litchfield Company, one of coastal South Carolina’s premier real estate firms, announces its affiliation with the luxury network.
The Litchfield Company has 10 offices serving South Carolina’s lowcountry, including popular beachfront communities Myrtle Beach and Pawley’s Island. Founded in 1956, Litchfield is one of the longest-running brokerages in the state, and today is the #1 real estate firm on the Waccamaw Neck.
Christie’s International Real Estate has had an established presence in Pawley’s Island for nearly two decades through The Lachicotte Company, which was acquired by The Litchfield Company in 2020. Now, the Lachicotte name will sunset, and eight of Litchfield’s offices will come under the Christie’s International Real Estate brand.
As an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, The Litchfield Company’s agents and clients will benefit from national and international exposure through the brand’s global luxury network, which has
affiliates in nearly 50 countries and territories. The firm will also gain access to exclusive marketing partnerships; a relationship with Christie’s auction house for the sale of fine art and luxury goods; and Christie’s International Real Estate’s proprietary pl@tform technology, which enables agents to digitally manage all aspects of the real estate transaction and client relationship through one fully integrated system.

The region has traditionally drawn buyers from the Atlanta, Greenville, S.C. and Charlotte, N.C. metros, but has lately seen an influx of primary and second home buyers from the Northeast and West. The market offers a diverse product mix with condominiums, townhomes, single-family and estate homes, and vacation rentals. Luxury residences range from $1 million to $5 million for beachfront property.
The region should see a strong market in 2024, according to Will Davis, vice president and broker in charge at The Litchfield Company. “The cities along the South Carolina coast are perennially popular,
and many of our inland offices are now seeing overflow from the coastal areas due to the extremely high demand in the area,” said Davis.
The addition of The Litchfield Company builds on Christie’s International Real Estate’s presence in the Carolinas, with affiliates serving Charleston, Hilton Head Island/Bluffton and Greenville, S.C., as well as Charlotte, Lake Norman, Highlands-Cashiers, and Asheville, N.C.
