The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help identifying several persons of interest connected to a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 23-year-old man earlier this week.
Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced Friday that investigators are seeking to identify individuals captured on a residential security camera in connection with the June 21 homicide.
"If you have the names of any one or all of these individuals, please call us," Ravenell said. "We need to speak with them about this homicide case and hopefully bring closure for this family soon."
According to the sheriff's office, doorbell security camera footage shows several males approaching a residence before the shooting. Investigators released still photographs of two of the three individuals in hopes that someone will recognize them.
Deputies responded shortly after midnight Sunday to a residence on Oliver Street in the town of North, where they found a 23-year-old man dead from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was discovered lying in the roadway after multiple rounds were fired in the area, according to an incident report.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Anyone with information about the identities of the individuals shown in the released photographs is asked to submit an anonymous tip using the sheriff's office QR code or online tips link, or contact the Orangeburg County Communications Center at 803-534-3550.
