A pedestrian died after being struck by a pickup truck Friday night on Paxville Highway, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred around 10 p.m. Friday, June 26, near the intersection of Paxville Highway and Raccoon Road
According to SCHP, a 2005 Ford F-150 was traveling west on Paxville Highway, toward the I-95 interchange and Paxville, when it struck a pedestrian who was walking north across the highway.
The pedestrian was transported by EMS to an area hospital, where they later died from injuries sustained in the collision.
The driver of the Ford F-150, who was the vehicle's sole occupant, was not injured.
The identity of the pedestrian has not been released. Additional information will be provided by the Clarendon County Coroner's Office once the victim has been identified and next of kin have been notified.
The collision remains under investigation by SCHP.
