Norman William Shirkey, 88, widower of Eleanor Jane Loar Shirkey, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 3, 2019.
Born June 10, 1930, in Millport, Ohio, he was a son of the late Rev. Noble William Shirkey and the late Glenna Alice O’toole Shirkey. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He loved to minister through song and sang with the Billy Graham Crusade in 1953. He was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Drenda Jane Gibson (Del); two granddaughters, Janey Ray Tyler (JR) and Christine Kay Gibson; and a great grandson, Hunter Blair Tyler, all of Manning.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Cornerstone Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. John Matthews officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.
