Meet one of Lake City's local business owners

Posted

Take a stroll down Main Street Lake City and you may feel like you are in the middle of Mayberry. The streets are lined with small businesses from boutiques to restaurants. Most of the small businesses are locally owned and owners can be seen daily sweeping the sidewalk and opening their store fronts. One of these owners is a very familiar face in downtown Lake City.

Born and raised in Lake City, a graduate of East Clarendon High School, and recently married, Anna McClellan has made Lake City her personal and professional home.

"I have always dreamed of having my own boutique on Main Street, Lake City since I was a little girl, needless to say that dream has come true" said McClellan.

The dream has actually come true twice, McClellan is the owner of Seven Boutique and Shade Tree, both located on Main Street.

Seven Boutique moved to Main Street in March of 2014, and Shade Tree was opened beside Seven in 2018, and McClellan purchased it from the previous owners in August of 2020.

McClellan said, "I wanted to be able to offer more men's apparel and accessories to Lake City and its surrounding areas. The people of Lake City are what make it so special and unique, we all support each other and want everyone to be successful, I may be a little biased but I love Lake City!"

McClellan was married last year to Thomas McClellan, originally of Georgetown, and together they have two fur babies named Lady and Mae.
