Mayor Nelson declares September as Hunger Action Month in Manning, in partnership with Harvest Hope Food Bank

“Hunger is a pervasive issue in our community, affecting individuals and families of all backgrounds,” Mayor Nelson stated. “By joining together as a community, we can make a significant impact and ensure that everyone has access to the food they need to thrive.”

Together, we are committed to raising awareness about hunger and inspiring action throughout the month of September. Residents are encouraged to volunteer, donate, and spread the word about the importance of food security.

“Every action, no matter how small, can make a difference in the fight against hunger,” said Erinn Rowe, CEO of Harvest Hope Food Bank. “We urge our community to join us in this important cause.”

Officials from Harvest Hope, Paxville CDC - a local partner agency in the Manning community, and Mayor Nelson will be present for the proclamation announcement during the council meeting. Interviews will be available.
