33-year-old independent contractor and freelancer with a passion for homesteading, Ashlee McArthur is making a name for herself. Born in Sumter, McArthur is a lifelong resident of Alcolu.
McArthur explained her other businesses, saying “In addition to selling shipping containers, I own a yard greeting franchise-Carolina Yard Love- that serves both Clarendon and Sumter counties. I also own Saorsa Farmstead in Alcolu that focuses on registered heritage breed livestock.”
In addition to her work at USA Containers, Carolina Yard Love and Saorsa Farmstead, McArthur is also mother to two children, a son named Carson and a daughter named Caroline. McArthur described working on the farm with her kids. “My children and I enjoy raising and caring for goats, pigs, chickens, rabbits and quail.”
After more than a decade of working in an office, behind a desk McArthur decided it was time for a change. She wanted more freedom and flexibility to focus on her family and farm life. “I found a sales position with USA Containers online and was hired the next day, I have been working with them for over a year now,” she stated.
