Inaugural Summer Youth Expo set for this weekend in Summerton

The How to Bring About a Change Team, led by Apostle Elizabeth Gibson, will host its inaugural Summer Youth Expo on June 29, starting at 2:00 p.m. at the Clarendon Community Resource Center. The event promises an exciting lineup of activities and notable guests, aimed at engaging and inspiring the local youth.

The event, spearheaded by Gibson, will feature Pastor Antonio Green as the Master of Ceremony. Principal Tyrone Cummings will deliver the keynote address, and musical performances will be led by Terrance G. Tindal.

Gibson shared her motivations for organizing the event on a larger scale after a hiatus due to personal responsibilities. “After caring for my mother, brother, and uncle, I finally had the freedom and space to dedicate myself to the youth. This event has been a vision that the Lord put back into my spirit, and I am thrilled to bring it to life,” she said.

The expo will offer more than just speeches and music. Attendees can enjoy a variety of food provided by Kathleen Gibson of K&H Resource Center, shop from local vendors, and participate in games. The event aims to draw over 200 people, with the community’s support.

Apostle Gibson, who also spends her time pastoring and mentoring youth, emphasized the importance of the event. “It’s crucial to engage with the young people, to encourage them and help them find responsibility and purpose,” she said. “This event is about bringing the community together and providing a positive environment for our youth.”

The Summer Youth Expo also highlights the collaborative efforts of the community. Kathleen Gibson has been instrumental in organizing logistics, including vendor arrangements and promotions.

For those interested, custom t-shirts with the messages “Prayer Works” and “Change is Coming” will be available, symbolizing the event’s spirit and mission.

The Clarendon Community Resource Center is located in Summerton, and everyone is encouraged to attend this community-building event.
