A 29-year-old woman from Hinesville, Georgia, was charged about 2:25 a.m. Dec. 18 with open container after officers with the Manning Police Department discovered her asleep in a vehicle parked and running at a store in the 100 block of South Boundary Street in Manning. According to reports, Erica Nicole Andrews, 29, of 1243 Pineridge Way in Hinesville, was first spotted in the parked, running vehicle about 10 p.m. Dec. 17 by police, who believed the vehicle belonged to the store's owners. After seeing the vehicle again nearly an hour-and-a-half later, police knocked on the driver's side door multiple times to try and rouse Andrews. The suspect allegedly told police that she did not know where she was and upon being told she was in Manning, she said she did not know where she was, or that she had been parked at the store for four hours. Police ran the license plate, which came back to a Georgia man, whom the woman said is her husband. Police noticed that Andrews kept rubbing her stomach, and asked the suspect if she needed medical assistance. She answered in the negative, and said her stomach was fine. During a search of the vehicle, police found an open 40-ounce Ice House beer; a bottle of Paul Masson brandy; and three small bottles of Crown Royal. Andrews was informed that she was under arrest, and she was later booked at the Clarendon County Detention Center. Her burgundy Dodge Durango was towed by a local company.
