CSD2 returns to four-day in-person learning

Posted

Clarendon School District 2 Families,

In an effort to adhere to the request of the Governor of South Carolina and the State Superintendent of Education, to "offer" five days of in-person instruction for all students, Clarendon School District Two will begin to offer four days of in-person instruction for all students on Monday, March 1, 2021. Fridays will remain an eLearning day for all teachers and students.

Parents still have the option to "opt-out" of in-person instruction, and have their child or children continue to engage in a 100% virtual learning experience. It is the continued expectation that all virtual students continue to log into their teacher's live instruction, daily, and on time, in an effort to receive and participate in the same high levels of instruction as their peers that are physically in the school buildings.

On Fridays, students will log into their Google Classrooms at 8:00am to complete their assignments that have been uploaded by their teachers. Students will also have opportunitites for small-group and/or individual support from their teachers. Teachers will engage in their weekly PLC and/or data meetings from 8:00am-10:00am, while students complete their assignments that have been uploaded by their teachers. Teachers, students, and parents will have the opportunities to meet, or conference, with each other, on Fridays between the hours of 10:15am-12:00pm, and again from 12:15pm-2:00pm.

Parents, if you choose to opt-out of in-person instruction, please be sure to complete the district's opt-out form and return it to your child's school by Thursday, February 18, 2021 so that we have enough time to make the necessary provisions for our in-person students.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to call us at the Distict Office at 803-435-4435. Please direct your questions to Dr. Erica Murdaugh, Director of Early Childhood and Elementary Education, or Dr. Tyneshia Eaddy, DIrector of Secondary Education.
