Clarendon County Council will honor 9-year-old New Zion native Olivia McConnell during its regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. today at the Clarendon County Administration Building on Sunset Drive in Manning. McConnel petitioned state lawmakers earlier this year to make the Carolina Mammoth the state fossil, and won after a little resistance from two state senators not from the midlands.
