CHS unveils 'My Health Portal'

Clarendon Health System announced Monday its new "My Health Portal," an interactive web portal at The new portal will "empower patients and their families to take a more active role in their care by providing easy, secure access to their hospital health information and online communication with Clarendon Memorial Hospital staff," according to a release from Clarendon Health System. "My Health Portal gives patients instant access to their hospital health information, including laboratory and radiology results, medications, allergies, demographic information, visit history, discharge/aftercare information, and more," said Director of Public Relations Jeffrey Black. "Patients can also access their hospital billing statements and outstanding balances. In addition to handling their own care, parents and healthcare proxies with authorized consent will appreciate the ability to access to hospital records of those individuals for whom they manage care." My Health Portal will allow patients to view and track their hospital appointments online. A central appointment page displays their list of scheduled and pending appointments, and they can review appointment details. “This web portal also saves patients time by allowing them to pre-register for hospital appointments online and submit updates to their demographic and contact information prior to their visits,” said Cindy Baumeister, RN, Clinical Informatics Manager at Clarendon Health System, who has coordinated the project. Patients can use “My Health Portal” to view email notifications that alert them to any new hospital based activity on their portal such as test results, messages, or appointments. “We encourage all of our hospital patients to enroll in My Health Portal as it presents a valuable opportunity for patients and their families to actively participate in their care, which contributes to better health, “ said Richard Stokes, CEO, Clarendon Health System. Anyone interested in enrolling in My Health Portal should contact Baumeister at (803) 435-5289 or visit and select “My Health Portal.”
