CCSD law enforcement students graduate

Posted

Clarendon County School District law enforcement students recently attended and graduated from the American Legion Nathan M. Wolfe Law Cadet Academy. Kimora Felder and Miguel DeCosta represented CCSD as 2023 Cadet Graduates. Mrs. Ladell Grice, Law Enforcement Instructor at F.E. DuBose Career Center, applauds the exemplary efforts of her students.

“My students work hard in the classroom daily, and this shows that they are willing to take their learning a step further to ensure they are knowledgeable and understand what it takes to be in law enforcement,” said Ladell Grice. “Kimora was named Chaplain of her squad during the week, which shows the dedication and determination of our students.”

During the week-long training, students were able to immerse themselves into the environment of training in public safety, giving them an insight into the field. Sherriff Leon Lott, Richland County Sherriff’s Department, congratulated the cadets and gave words of encouragement.

“This is who we need to talk about every single day. I am so glad the American Legion had this program for our students to see the field of law enforcement,” said Sherriff Leon Lott. “I encourage each one of the cadets to set goals in every area of their life and be the best. Set standards of excellence.”

CCSD high school students interested in Law Enforcement travel to F.E. DuBose Career Center to complete classes and earn certifications.

“Law Enforcement is a career in high demand, and we want to ensure that our students are ready to step into the workforce and serve well,” said Dr. Keisa Carr, Interim Director at FEDCC.
