Catherine Blalock Lowder, 80, wife of Joseph Armstrong Lowder, Jr., died Monday, June 1, 2020, at her home.
Born August 16, 1939, in Bowden, NC, she was a daughter of the late John William Blalock and the late Rella Moss Blalock. She was a retired lab director for Clarendon Memorial Hospital with 42 years of service, and she received the TWIN award from the Sumter YMCA. She was a member of Jordan United Methodist Church and the church choir. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years of Manning; three children, Cynthia Pack of Manning, Wayne Lowder (Julie) of Sumter and Brenda Barnes (Timmy) of Dalzell; six grandchildren, Daniel Robert Pack III (Kelsey), Hunter Birgerson (Samantha), Madison Lowder, Tyler Pack, Jordan Pack and Jackson Barnes; and a great granddaughter, Presley Pack.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Daniel Robert Pack, Jr.; two brothers; and three sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2020, at Jordan United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor John Watts officiating.
