Born June 19, 1926, in Woodbury, Ga., she was a daughter of the late John David Metcalf and Bessie Mae Bridges Long. She was a member of the Santee Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte (David) Bair of Manning; two sons, Alan “Randy” (Joann) Simms of Barnesville, Ga., and Arthur “Ray” (Darlene) Bradford of Hennepin, Ill.; a sister, Thelma M. Brown of Jacksonville, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a niece; and two nephews.
Memorial services will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Venning Long officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at Stephens Funeral Home.
