James William Broadway

SUMTER – James William “Billy” Broadway, 75, died Sunday, December 20, 2015, at McLeod Hospital.

Born February 23, 1940, in Manning, he was a son of the late James William Broadway, Sr. and the late Frances Thames Broadway. He was the owner and operator of Broadway Construction Company. He was a member of Manning First Baptist Church and he attended Alice Drive Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sons, Michael Shawn Broadway (Angela) of Chapin and William Shand Broadway of Manning; a daughter, LeAnne Burress Broadway of Pawleys Island; five grandchildren, Jordan Clark Broadway, Sybil Carlyn Broadway, Michael Shawn Broadway II, Glennda Kay Broadway and LeAnna Clark Broadway; two nieces, Mary Frances Christianson and Julia Ann Noll; a brother-in-law, Clifford Noll, all of Port Aransas, TX; and a special friend, Peggy Patrick of Sumter.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Beatrice Noll.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Dale Roach officiating.

Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at Stephens Funeral Home and other times at his lake residence, 1535 Little John Road, Manning.
