The National Weather Service is reporting a strong thunderstorm that will affect northeastern Clarendon County. About 3:45 p.m. a strong thunderstorm was spotted by radar near Mayesville. Movement was east near 20 mph toward northeastern Clarendon, southeastern Lee and east central Sumter counties. Wind gusts could exceed 35 mph, with brief heavy downpours and occasional lightning.
