Warren Propane expands business

Posted

When it comes to a family-owned and family-operated business, Steve Warren knows the ins and outs. He is the owner of Warren Propane, located at 4 East Boyce Street in Manning. Warren is proud to be the 3rd generation of propane businessmen in his family. His wife, Renee, handles the paperwork side of things while he is certified to service commercial properties and homes. “Our whole family has been involved in the business. One of my sons works in the service department, one of my sons works as a delivery driver, and my daughter even washes the trucks sometimes,” said Warren.

Warren grew up in the propane business and when his father retired in 2005, he bought the industrial side of the business from him. Living in Manning for over 50 years, Warren said he and his family are “hometown oriented and dedicated to the people of Clarendon County.” In 2021, Warren saw a need for residential propane services in the Clarendon area and decided to open another facet of the family business. “Other residential companies were being bought out by bigger companies; you could stay on hold for hours with a propane company before actually talking to someone,” Warren said. He said there was a need for infrastructure to service homeowners and he was able to fill it.

The temporary showroom on Boyce Street boasts appliances and grills, but Warren Propane is not stopping there. They plan to move to a larger location once renovations are complete and will offer a full-service shop, including a refill area for propane tanks and an even larger showroom. They are hoping to make the move within the year. For now, you can visit the showroom on East Boyce Street from 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday or call 803-433-1075 to learn more about their services.
