A 38-year-old Manning woman and her 13-year-old son were killed in a collision Friday afternoon on Greeleyville Highway east of Manning, according to Clarendon County Coroner Jacqueline Blackwell.

Blackwell identified the victim as Heather Lynn Strebeck, 38, of Manning. Her teenage son also died as a result of the incident.

The collision occurred at approximately 12:03 p.m. Feb. 20 on Greeleyville Highway near Bay Shadow Drive, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP).

SCHP reported the collision involved two vehicles: a 2011 Western Star log truck with a trailer and a 2015 Toyota Sienna. The log truck was disabled in the northbound lane of Greeleyville Highway and was not occupied at the time.

The Toyota Sienna, carrying Strebeck and the passenger, was traveling north when it struck a log on the trailer of the disabled truck. The vehicle then traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Both occupants of the Toyota died at the scene as a result of their injuries.

Clarendon County Fire Rescue responded to the scene and shut down the roadway while emergency crews worked.

The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
