The Manning Monarchs no-hit the Knights

The Manning High School varsity baseball team traveled to Crestwood High School to take on the Knights Tuesday night. Landon McDaniel and Landon Heaton combined to throw a 6 inning no-hitter.

McDaniel started the game on the mound for the Monarchs. He went four innings giving up one unearned run while striking out seven and walking three. Heaton came in to pitch the final two innings. He threw 24 pitches with one strikeout and one walk to close the game out.

Manning was able to dominate the game at the plate and on the mound. The Monarchs got the scoring started in the third with four runs. They added another four in the fourth and then put the game out of reach with eight in the sixth.

Cam Watford, Shawn Charles, McKrae Ard, Malik Blackwell, Heaton, and Trevin Harrison all drove in runs in the sixth.

McDaniel was the winning pitcher for Manning. Caden Dail took the loss for Crestwood. He lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and eight runs while striking out six.

The Monarchs totaled seven hits. Watford and Sayvion McClary each managed multiple hits. The Monarchs also stole nine bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Harrison led the way with two.

Manning took the win by a final score of 16-1 to move to 2-2 on the season. Crestwood and Manning will play again tomorrow night in Manning.
