The Lady Wolverines were no match for Andrews

The East Clarendon Lady Wolverines varsity softball fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 9-0 loss to the Andrews Yellow Jackets Tuesday. Andrews scored on a double by Camie Sampson in the first inning and a double by Caroline Bourne in the second inning.

East Clarendon struggled the entire game to contain the high-powered offense of Andrews, giving up nine runs.

The Yellow Jackets got on the board in the first inning when Sampson doubled.

One positive for the Lady Wolverines was Katie Lee, who tripled in the first inning.

Savannah Moore was credited with the victory for Andrews. She lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and zero runs while striking out three.

Maddie Newsome took the loss for East Clarendon. She lasted seven innings, allowing 12 hits and nine runs while striking out 11.

Hope Azurdia, Lee, Zoe McElveen, Amanda Floyd, and Tristan Azurdia each managed one hit to lead East Clarendon.

Andrews totaled 12 hits in the game. Bourne, Sampson, and Faith Calloway all had multiple hits for the Yellow Jackets. Andrews didn't commit a single error in the field.

The Lady Wolverines will have a chance at redemption as they travel to Andrews Thursday night.
