Santa's summer visit to Manning

Posted

Businesses in downtown Manning came together Saturday, July 22 to put on a “summer shopping adventure” known as Christmas in July. Jen Erickson of Belladonna Boutique, along with several other staple businesses offered customers a fun shopping experience for the day to inspire people to shop local. Exclusive summer sales and sneak peaks at new arrivals were just the half of it, the event was also the perfect opportunity to raise money for a great cause.

Each store came together and offered some of Clarendon’s favorite local items, products, and gift certificates for a “Manning Basket.” Raffle tickets were sold during Christmas in July to auction off the basket, valued at over $500! All of the money raised was donated to one of Manning’s UPS delivery drivers, Michael Barwick, who was recently diagnosed with leukemia.

Jennifer Lucy Thynes Casselman of Lucy’s Traditional Southern Bakehouse was the winner of the raffle, and she decided to gift the basket to Barwick. Downtown Manning would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who bought a raffle ticket or attended Christmas in July.
