Road closure planned for Raccoon Road in Clarendon County

Posted

Clarendon County residents are advised to plan for an upcoming road closure as the county undertakes necessary storm drain repairs. A section of Road S14-63, commonly known as Raccoon Road, will be closed for approximately one week starting Monday, September 9.

The closure will affect the stretch of Raccoon Road between US 301 (Alex Harvin Highway) and S14-62 (Loss Brook Road). The road is expected to reopen on Saturday, September 14, barring any unforeseen delays.

A detour route has been established, directing drivers to use US 301, SC Route 260, and S14-62 (Oak Grove Church Road). The detour will add approximately five miles to the commute in one direction. Residents are encouraged to allow extra time for their travel during the closure period.

Maps detailing the closure and detour are available on our website at manninglive.com, and those needing further information or assistance are encouraged to contact local county officials.

Clarendon County Public Works appreciates the community's patience and cooperation as these important infrastructure improvements are completed.
