Rhonda Gail Nesbitt Pelfrey

Rhonda Gail Nesbitt Pelfrey, 68, wife of 45 years to Joe Curtis Pelfrey, Jr., died Monday, June 28, 2021, at McLeod Regional Medical Center.

Born January 20, 1953, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Paul Mason Nesbitt and the late Orie White Nesbitt. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of ARC – The Pentecostals of Manning Church. 

She is survived by her husband of Alcolu; a daughter, Crystal Pelfrey McPhail (Jimmy) of Knoxville, TN; a son, Joe Curtis Pelfrey III (Katie) of Florence; seven grandchildren, Katelyn Phillips (Joshua), Taylor, Dakota, Mason, Jodi & Morgan McPhail, and Lillian Pelfrey; a brother, Michael Nesbitt (Candy) of Maine; her aunts who raised her, Molly Hendrix (Perry) of Sumter and Gerri Morgan (Leonard) of New Paris, OH; and several nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2021, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with Pastor David Gleason and Pastor Seth Gleason officiating. Burial will follow in Clarendon Memorial Gardens. 

Pallbearers will be Marty Hendrix, Keith Hendrix, Waylon Hendrix, Marc Spigner, Brad Pelfrey, Matt Spigner, Allen Lee and Seth Freeze.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 14444 Plowden Mill Road, Alcolu.
