The Clarendon County Pilot Club has awarded $4,000 in scholarships to four high school seniors pursuing careers in the medical field, continuing a tradition of honoring the legacy of Dotty McFadden, a founding member of the organization.
The annual Dotty McFadden Memorial Scholarship recognizes students for their academic achievement, community involvement, and overall character. Each recipient was selected from one of the county’s high schools and presented with the award by members of the Pilot Club during recent ceremonies.
This year’s scholarship recipients are:
Skylar Dymond, Clarendon Hall, presented by Kathy Geddings and Donna Thames
Lainey Baggette, Laurence Manning Academy, presented by Neel Lesesne and Marsha Thompson
Atyra McLeod, Manning High School, presented by Marsha Thompson and Neel Lesesne
Katrese Pringle, Scott’s Branch High School, presented by Marsha Thompson and Camille Daniel
The scholarships were made possible through generous contributions from Dr. Andy McFaddin of Sumter, along with community donations and local fundraising efforts.
The Pilot Club expressed gratitude to all who contributed, helping support the next generation of medical professionals and honor McFadden’s commitment to service and education.
