Lauren Nicole Peterson of Manning and Joshua David Mahaffey of Chapmanville, West Virginia, were united in marriage at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at St. Paul’s Waccamaw United Methodist Church in Pawley’s Island.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie D. Peterson and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas G. Brewer Sr. of Manning and Mr. and Mrs. Walter E. Peterson Sr. of Sumter.
She graduated from Laurence Manning Academy, and received a bachelor of science degree in exercise and sports science from Coastal Carolina University. She is employed by the Lakes at Litchfield.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan D. Mahaffey of Chapmanville, and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph L. Pais, formerly of Welch, West Virginia, and Mr. and Mrs. Larry F. Mahaffey Sr. of Kingsport, Tennessee.
He graduated from Chapmanville Regional High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Ferrum College. He is employed by Litchfield Beach and Gold Resort.
The Rev. Jeff Dunn officiated at the ceremony.
Music was provided by Margaret Brewer, pianist; Erica Peterson, pianist; and T.J. Cofield, violinist.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a cathedral veil with a white taffeta strapless gown that had a sweetheart neckline, an embellished beaded belt on the waise with a corset-back and bow to end the corset; and a ball gown skirt with a bubble, pick-up effect, ending in a cathedral train.
She carried a bouquet of hand-tied calla lilies wrapped in satin around the stems with a bow.
Miss Erica Suzanne Peterson, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Miss Meagan Mahaffey, sister of the groom; Stephanie Krause; Shannon Williams; Kursten Anderson; and Erin Broyles.
Piper Lynn Peterson and Annalee Hope Brewer, cousins of the bride, served as flower girls.
The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen included Jamie Holler, Matthew Racer, Josh Motto, Andrew Ellis and Timmy Motto.
Jake Peterson, cousin of the bride, served as ring-bearers.
Other participants included Wesley Brewer, cousin of the bride, and Evan Mahaffey, cousin of the groom.
A reception given by the bride’s parents was held in Berly Hall at St. Paul’s Waccamaw United Methodist Church.
A rehearsal party given by the groom’s parents was held at The Tanser House in Pawley’s Island.
Following a wedding trip to Oahu, Hawaii, the couple lives in Conway.
