A Manning woman died Saturday evening after being struck by a vehicle while walking her dog near her home, authorities said.
The collision occurred at approximately 6:22 p.m. on U.S. 301 near Fellowship Drive, about two miles south of Manning, according to Sgt. Tyler Tidwell of the South Carolina Highway Patrol. A 2019 Nissan Armada traveling north on the highway struck the pedestrian, who was in the roadway at the time. The driver of the Nissan, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was not injured.
Clarendon County Coroner Jacqueline Blackwell identified the pedestrian as Camille Marie Andrews, 61, of Manning. Andrews was walking her dog near the 3000 block of Alex Harvin Highway when the incident occurred. An autopsy has been scheduled for next week, Blackwell said.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the collision.
